138 Q Please state your name, rank, serial number and organization.

A Pfc. Charles W. Boaz, 36905128, Company "I", 157th Infantry.

(The witness was advised of his rights under the 14th Article of War.)

139 Q Do you remember the taking of the Dachau Concentration Camp?

A Yes, sir.

140 Q Were you present when the SS men were separated from the other prisoners?

A No, sir. I did see some SS troopers being picked up but that is all. I saw them being separated. There were two groups of them.

141 Q What was done with the SS men?

A I do not know. I have heard some remarks but do not know myself because I was put on guard at the gate that day.

142 Q What remarks did you hear?

A I heard later on afterwards that some of the SS'rs were shot.

143 Q Who told you?

A I just heard it among the boys talking. No certain one told me.

144 Q Was that among your own platoon?

A I heard it among the soldiers.

145 Q In your platoon or some other platoon?

A Well, the soldiers in my platoon I am pretty sure could not have been present, and I imagine they heard it the same place like I did.
